'Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen' (or: General Assault Badge ie. GAB) being an unmarked, so-called: 'half-moon hinge-plate'-variant-pattern (as was produced by a to date unknown maker)
This particular example - being a fairly scarcely encountered! - non-maker-marked- and/or zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink') based-, solid-back-variant-pattern that has maintained an attractive age-patina comes naturally mounted on its functional (thin-shaped- and/or silver-toned-) pin. The piece comes with a regular hinge- and/or so-called: 'half-moon hinge-plate'-set-up (as can be seen on the pictures) and is quite detailed and/or pronounced: it has IMO been moderately used and shows some wear on the obvious higher-placed areas: it is, moreover, quite dirty but was IMO never cleaned. The piece is, however, never polished and does still show great pronounced detail. This specific GAB - of which to date no exact maker has been determined - is also described on the German Combat Awards- (ie. GCA-) Forum, whereat it has been given the unique reference-number: '1.29.1 - 'half-moon hinge-plate'-variant-pattern by a to date unknown maker. It should be noted that this is a desirable - and with certainty not often encountered! - GAB-'variant' that can easily be graded 'scarce'!
