The very detailed cross - which is executed in reddish-bronze-coloured metal (I deem genuine bronze) - comes as recently found at a private- household in Germany: it was never part of a collection and was never cleaned nor polished. The piece - which takes the shape of an iron-cross first-class and shows on its front the text: 'EA - 1914' with above a crown of the royal family of Braunschweig. The cross - which is quite converse ie. vaulted as can be seen on the pictures - comes mounted onto its functional (and/or undamaged- ie. totally unaltered- and/or functional-) pin- and/or catch (-set-up). These 'Braunschweiger KvKs' are actually not often offered for sale and can easily be graded 'fairly scarce'.
