This is an attractive - albeit regrettably single! - 'cyphered', WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboard, as was piped in the neat white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour, as was intended for - and with certainty worn by! - a: 'Leutnant des Infanterie-Regiments 451' (or lieutnant who served within the infantry regiment, numbered: '451' ), in overall nice, albeit clearly used ie. worn and/or IMO tunic-removed, condition. The neat shoulderboard is constructed in the smooth-type (ie. 'moleskin'-like) wool and is per regulation piped in the white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour. The board - which has a length of approximately 11 cms. - comes without tongue as found and/or worn and was thus a board that was worn as a so-called: 'sew-in'-type example. The board has a truly 'silver-greyish'-coloured (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-) 'upperdeck' (something that clearly identifies it as WH Heeres-type shoulder- board). The board shows some minimal age ie. staining caused by years of storage and/or minimal wear and/or usage: it is IMO most certainly worn and/or carefully tunic-removed (it comes with a pebbled-styled, button period-attached (sewn on by hand). The board - which originate from a private household and was never before in a collection - shows the(regular-sized-) golden-toned, '4, '5' and '1'-numerals attached: all 3 devices show some minimal tarnish ie. wear. Simply an attractive infantry-related shoulderboard that belonged to a: 'Leutnant des Infanterie-Regiments 451': too bad that it is only a single example!
