Romanian WWII period axis military sportsbadge
This is a very rare Romanian WWII period military sportsbadge that was awarded to members of the German racial minority group in Romania, in overall nice condition. Romania - being one of Germany\'s WWII allies also developed its own (youth?) sportsbadge, intended to be worn by the German speaking minority group. The bronze piece states the wording: \'Vorleben - Vorkämpfen\' is in a very nice condition - having no damage whatsoever - and comes on its original pin as issued. The piece has a very nice age patina (IMO never cleaned nor polished) and shows a makers-mark on the back. It is also individually numbered: it shows the number: \'36\' (which low number confirms its rarity!) This badge is truly rare: only a few are known in existance today. The only reference where it - as far as I know - is mentioned is volume II of \'Orders, Decorations, Medals and Badges of the Third Reich\' by Littlejohn and Dodkins: here a photo and brief description are shown on page 83. The badge has approximately the same size as a SA sportsbadge. A great opportunity to acquire a rare badge from one of Germany\'s Axis forces!
