Small KC-bearer lot ('Kreta cuff-title & more)
This is a nice albeit small KC-bearer lot comprising of a (stone-mint!) \'Kreta\' cuff title and small, A-5 sized document, stating that the award was posthumously awarded to (\'Ober?)Feldwebel Rudolf Schmidt\', a LW pilot. The cuff-title is a text-book (and stone-mint!) example in full-length (approx. 45 cms.) condition. The cuff-title is executed in the neatly woven cotton and has two finished ends (yellow stitching). It should be stated that this is not a commemorative cuff-title (such as the \'Afrikakorps\' cuff-title) but an award that needed official recognition. The document states that the relatives from \'O.Feldwebel Schmidt\' (who was a pilot in \'Jagdgeschwader 77/5.Staffel\' and was MIA) are receiving the cuff-title and award-document. (The latter is regrettably missing!). It should be stated that \'O.Feldwebel Rudolf Schmidt\' was awarded the KC on 30 August 1941. I acquired the set from a dealer who obtained this set straight from the family. A very nice and desirable set!
