BeVo armshield 'France' This is a very nice and truly rare armshield \'France\' which was intended for a French volunteer within the \'LVF\'. This \'Legion of French Volunteers Against Bolshevism\' (or in French: ‘Légion des Volontaires Français contre le Bolchévisme’, or simply ‘Légion des Volontaires Français’ or ‘LVF’) was a collaborationist French militia founded on July 8, 1941. It gathered various collaborationist parties and volunteered to fight against the USSR on the Eastern Front. The LVF was officially known to the Germans as Infantry Regiment (\'Infanterieregiment\') 638. The shield is in slightly used condition and shows some truly minor staining. It is executed in the nice BeVo weave pattern. This is one of the more rarer shields to encounter: especially in this slightly worn condition! This shield is in undamaged condition but might need some ironing: it can natuarlly be folded back to create the format as worn on the tunics. The prevoius owner has put a blue-coloured inked text (stating \'LVF\') on the shield: it might be possible to remove this. Still a very nice and rare shield!
