Set LW 'Flugzeugführer' badge & cuff
This is a very nice set comprising of a neat LW \'Flugzeugführerabzeichen\' (pilots\' badge) (unmarked, \'Buntmetall\' version) and a (full-length i.e. 46 cms. long) hand-stitched officers\' cuff-title entitled: \'Geschwader Boelcke\'. Both originate from a German flea-market and were always kept together by the veteran: they were never in a collection yet. This example is executed in \'Buntmetall\' (tombak) and is unmarked. The badge is clearly worn but shows a great deal of character (there are some small cracks in the wreath which are only visible at the back, but nothing shocking). The badge has its original (functional) catch and pin and both rivets present. The badge has never been cleaned nor polished and has a nice age patina. The cuff-title is nicely executed in silver-wire and was clearly on a uniform once. A nice and original set that belonged to a LW-pilot in a famous unit! I decided to keep - and sell - this set as found: IMO did I price this neat set accordingly!
